Mindfulness Based Child & Parenting Program (MBCP)
A period of transformation
A 9-WEEK OR A CONDENSED 3-DAY PROGRAM TO PREPARE FOR BIRTH AND PARENTHOOD.
This course integrates the form and practices of MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) with childbirth and early parenting education. Mindfulness meditation trains our capacity for attention and discernment to what is present in the moment (our thoughts, our emotions, our physical sensations, but also the environment and relationships) by integrating a dimension of ethics and benevolence. It is a practice accessible to all that is learned through formal meditation exercises and informal practices in everyday activities.
“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally.” John Kabat-Zinn

“I participated in the mindfulness Based Child Birth and Parenting condensed held by Erica. Erica is a wonderful teacher and the program is a wonderful mix of discussion topics, learning about childbirth and parenting, meditation and movement. The class provides a unique perspective compared to other birth classes, focusing on mindfulness and how this affects birth and your experiences as a new mom. I was able to identify areas where I can be more mindful and created helpful visualizations and tactics that I will bring with me during childbirth and into parenting. I would recommend this course to anyone preparing to give birth. Erica is an excellent leader and truly cares about helping those in the class.” E.D. *****
